How Much Do Hair Treatments Cost in Las Vegas? Smoothing, Perms & Repair (2026)

The third in our cost-guide series (after extensions and color): what hair treatments actually cost. A Hottie Hair co-founder breaks down smoothing (Brazilian Blowout $270–$330, Japanese thermal $400–$600), perms ($155–$250), and conditioning/bond treatments (Metal Detox $30, Formula 18 $40, Milbon $75–$150) — what each does, how long it lasts, and how to tell which you need.

How Much Do Hair Treatments Cost in Las Vegas? Smoothing, Perms & Repair (2026)

By Crystal Frehner, Hottie Hair co-founder. We've published cost guides for extensions and color — this one closes the set. Smoothing treatments, perms, and bond-building treatments are where people most often have no idea what to expect price-wise, so here's the full menu with real numbers, what each one actually does, and how to tell which you need.

Hair treatments fall into three buckets: smoothing (Brazilian Blowout, Japanese thermal) to fight frizz and cut your styling time, texture (perms) to add curl or wave, and conditioning/repair (Milbon, Formula 18, Metal Detox) to rebuild hair health. They range from a $30 add-on to a $600 transformation. Below is exactly what each costs at Hottie Hair, what it does, and how long it lasts — so you can walk in knowing the number before you sit down.

Before and after a smoothing treatment at Hottie Hair Las Vegas — frizzy curly hair on the left, sleek straight glossy hair on the right

A real smoothing transformation at Hottie Hair — frizzy and unmanageable (left) to sleek and glossy (right). This is what a smoothing treatment buys you in Nevada's dry, frizz-inducing climate.

The 30-Second Answer

  • Brazilian Blowout (smoothing): $270–$330 by length. Cuts frizz and styling time, lasts ~10–12 weeks, no downtime.
  • Japanese Thermal Straightening (permanent straight): $400–$600 by length. Permanently straightens; grows out rather than washing out.
  • Perm (texture/curl): $155–$250 by length; specialty perms quoted at a free consult.
  • Bond & conditioning treatments: Metal Detox $30, Formula 18 $40, Milbon $75–$150. Add-ons that rebuild hair health.
  • Price depends on technique + your hair's length/thickness — not which stylist you book (we flat-price the team). Exact quote at a free consultation or call (702) 979-4468.

Smoothing Treatments: Brazilian Blowout & Japanese Thermal

These are the most-requested treatments at Hottie Hair, and for good reason — Las Vegas is dry, hot, and hard on hair, and a smoothing treatment is the single biggest reduction in daily frizz and styling time you can buy. But "smoothing" covers two very different services with very different price tags and outcomes.

Service Length Price
Brazilian BlowoutRegular$270
Brazilian BlowoutLong$300
Brazilian BlowoutLong / Thick$330
Japanese ThermalRegular$400
Japanese ThermalLong$500
Japanese ThermalLong / Thick$600

Brazilian Blowout — the flexible one

A Brazilian Blowout reduces frizz, adds shine, and cuts your blow-dry time dramatically — but it doesn't make your hair pin-straight. It softens your natural texture rather than erasing it, so you keep the option of wearing it wavy or straight. It lasts roughly 10–12 weeks, fades out gradually (no harsh line of regrowth), and there's no downtime — you can wash and style normally right away. For most people fighting Vegas frizz, this is the one. We go deeper on whether it's right for you in our Brazilian Blowout guide.

Japanese Thermal — the permanent one

Japanese thermal straightening permanently restructures the hair to be straight. It doesn't wash out — it grows out, meaning you'll eventually see a line where new natural-texture growth meets the straightened hair. It's the most powerful option for very curly or coarse hair someone wants bone-straight, but it's a bigger commitment (and price) and the hair stays straight until it grows out and is cut off. If you're deciding between the two, our Brazilian Blowout vs. Japanese straightening comparison lays out exactly who each is for, and our Brazilian Blowout vs. keratin breakdown covers the smoothing-category nuances.

Thermal reconditioning before and after at Hottie Hair Las Vegas — frizzy waves transformed to sleek, glossy, straight hair

Another real smoothing result. How long the smoothness lasts depends partly on home care — sulfate-free products and our hard-water routine protect the investment.

Perms: Adding Curl & Wave

Perms have come a long way from the tight curls of decades past. Today's perms create everything from soft beach waves to defined curls, and they're a real option for anyone who wants texture without styling it in every day. Pricing is by length, with specialty work quoted individually.

Service Length / Type Price
PermRegular$155
PermLong$190
PermLong / Thick$250
Perm — SpecialtySpiral, multi-textured, beach wave, partial, digitalFree consult

Specialty perms — spiral, multi-textured, beach wave, partial, or digital — are quoted at a consultation because they vary so much by technique and hair. A perm lasts until it grows out (several months), so it's a low-daily-effort way to live with texture. For the full picture, see our modern perms guide and the perm aftercare guide on making curls last 6+ months in the desert.

Conditioning & Bond-Building Treatments

These are the repair-and-protect treatments — the ones that rebuild hair health, especially important if you color, lighten, or wear extensions. Most are affordable add-ons to another service rather than standalone appointments.

Treatment What it does Price
Metal DetoxRemoves metal/mineral buildup (key with Vegas hard water) before color$30
Formula 18Deep conditioning / bond support$40
Milbon 4-StepJapanese luxury repair treatment$75
Milbon VivacityScalp-focused Milbon treatment$100
Milbon ComboScalp-to-ends full Milbon treatment$150

Metal Detox deserves a special mention for Las Vegas. Our water runs around 550 PPM — among the hardest in the nation — and the minerals build up in your hair and interfere with color. At $30, it's cheap insurance before a color service, and it's why we recommend it so often here. The Milbon line is our Japanese luxury repair system; our Milbon treatment guide explains the difference between the tiers. For the science of why all of this matters more in the desert, our hair porosity and hard-water guide is the deep dive.

Are Smoothing Treatments Safe for Your Hair?

This is the most common hesitation we hear, and it's a fair one. The short version: done by a professional with quality product, modern smoothing treatments are safe and often improve hair health by sealing the cuticle and cutting the daily heat-styling that actually damages hair. The frizz-fighting and shine aren't the only benefit — less time fighting your hair with a flat iron every morning means less cumulative heat damage over the year.

A few honest caveats. Smoothing treatments aren't a repair treatment — if your hair is already badly damaged or over-processed, we may recommend a few bond/conditioning treatments first to get it healthy before smoothing. And there's a sequencing question with color: lightening and smoothing in the wrong order can stress the hair, so we plan those visits deliberately rather than stacking them carelessly. This is exactly the kind of thing a consultation sorts out — your stylist looks at your hair's actual condition and tells you honestly whether it's ready, and which treatment is the right fit. We'd rather tell you to wait and strengthen first than sell you a service your hair isn't ready for.

Which Treatment Do You Actually Need?

Quick way to sort it out by what's bothering you:

  • "My hair frizzes and takes forever to style" → Brazilian Blowout. Softens texture, cuts styling time, no downtime.
  • "I want it permanently straight, no exceptions" → Japanese thermal straightening. The strongest, most permanent option.
  • "I want curl or wave without styling it daily" → Perm. Beach wave to defined curl.
  • "My hair feels dry, damaged, or brassy from coloring" → Milbon, Formula 18, or Metal Detox, often added to a color appointment.
  • "I color or lighten and want to protect my hair" → Metal Detox before color + a bond treatment. The cheapest way to keep your investment healthy.

If you're not sure, that's exactly what a free consultation is for. A stylist looks at your hair, you describe what's frustrating you, and they tell you which treatment solves it — and the exact price for your length and thickness. No pressure to book same-day.

What to Expect: Treatment Day & Aftercare

Each treatment has its own day-of process and aftercare, and getting the aftercare right is what determines whether you get the full lifespan out of what you paid for.

  • Brazilian Blowout: roughly 90 minutes in the chair, and one of its biggest advantages is no downtime — you can wash, pull it up, and style normally the same day. To stretch it toward the full 12 weeks, switch to sulfate-free shampoo and avoid heavy salt or chlorine exposure without rinsing after.
  • Japanese thermal: the longest appointment of the group because the hair is restructured section by section. Aftercare matters more here — you'll be asked to keep the hair straight and dry for a couple of days while the new structure sets. Your stylist gives you the exact window at your appointment.
  • Perm: plan to leave the curls alone for about 48 hours — no washing or heavy styling — so the new texture locks in. After that, a curl-friendly routine keeps them springy. Our perm aftercare guide covers the full routine.
  • Conditioning / bond treatments: no downtime at all. These are usually added to another service and you walk out ready to go.

Across all of them, the single biggest lifespan factor in Las Vegas is water. Our hard water shortens the life of smoothing treatments and dulls the shine they create, so a chelating shampoo every couple of weeks and a sulfate-free everyday shampoo are worth building into your routine — it's the difference between re-booking at 8 weeks versus 12.

Where Treatments Fit With Color & Extensions

Treatments rarely happen in a vacuum. A few combinations we plan for all the time:

  • Color + Metal Detox: detox first so the hard-water minerals don't fight your color. See our color cost guide for color pricing.
  • Smoothing + color: sequencing matters — we'll tell you which to do first and whether to split visits.
  • Treatments + extensions: bond treatments keep both your natural hair and your extensions healthy between move-ups.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a Brazilian Blowout cost in Las Vegas?

At Hottie Hair, a Brazilian Blowout is $270 for regular length, $300 for long, and $330 for long and thick hair. It reduces frizz, adds shine, and cuts styling time, lasts about 10–12 weeks, fades gradually with no harsh regrowth line, and has no downtime — you can wash and style normally right away.

What's the difference between a Brazilian Blowout and Japanese straightening?

A Brazilian Blowout ($270–$330) softens frizz and texture but keeps your hair's natural movement — it's flexible and temporary, lasting 10–12 weeks. Japanese thermal straightening ($400–$600) permanently restructures hair to be bone-straight; it grows out rather than washing out. Choose the Blowout for frizz control with flexibility, Japanese thermal for permanent pin-straight results.

How much does a perm cost?

Perms at Hottie Hair are $155 for regular, $190 for long, and $250 for long and thick hair. Specialty perms — spiral, multi-textured, beach wave, partial, or digital — are quoted at a free consultation because the technique and time vary so much. A perm lasts until it grows out, usually several months.

Are conditioning treatments worth it?

For most people who color, lighten, or wear extensions in Las Vegas, yes. A Metal Detox ($30) removes the hard-water mineral buildup that dulls color and is cheap insurance before a color service. Milbon ($75–$150) and Formula 18 ($40) rebuild hair health. They're affordable add-ons that protect a much bigger color or extension investment.

Why does Las Vegas hard water matter for treatments?

Las Vegas has some of the hardest water in the nation (~550 PPM). The minerals build up in your hair, dull color, cause brassiness, and interfere with how treatments and color take. That's why we so often recommend a Metal Detox before color and a chelating routine at home. Our hair porosity guide explains the chemistry in detail.

Do different stylists charge different prices for treatments?

No. Every stylist on the Hottie Hair team charges the same flat rate for the same service — your price depends on the treatment and your hair's length and thickness, never on which stylist you book. You choose your stylist on specialty and fit, not budget.

How do I know which treatment is right for me?

Book a free consultation. Tell us what's frustrating you — frizz, dryness, lack of curl, damage from color — and a stylist will recommend the specific treatment that solves it and give you the exact price for your hair. About 30 minutes, no obligation to book a service from it.
