Tape-in extensions are thin wefts of human hair attached with medical-grade adhesive tape sandwiched close to the root — the fastest professional install method.

Tape-in extensions are one- to two-inch-wide wefts of hair with a thin adhesive strip along the top. A stylist "sandwiches" a small section of your natural hair between two tape wefts, creating a flat, flexible bond that sits close to the scalp and lies flush against the head. Because no heat, beads, or braiding is involved, a full install is faster than any other professional method.

The bonds typically last 6–8 weeks before the hair grows out enough that the wefts need to be removed, cleaned, re-taped, and reinstalled — a maintenance visit called a move-up. Good-quality tape-in hair is reusable across multiple move-ups, which is what makes the method one of the most economical ways to wear professional extensions.
