What Is K-Tip Extensions?
Also called: Fusion extensions, Keratin bond extensions, Hot fusion
K-tip (fusion) extensions are individual strands pre-tipped with keratin, bonded to your natural hair with gentle heat — the longest-wearing professional method.
K-tip extensions — known in the industry as fusion or keratin-bond extensions — are individual strands of hair pre-tipped with keratin protein. A stylist uses a heated tool to soften the keratin and roll it around a small section of your natural hair, forming a discreet, waterproof bond about the size of a grain of rice.
Because each strand attaches independently, K-tips move like your own hair and allow complete styling freedom: swim, work out, wear high ponytails, curl, and color without exposing an attachment point. The bonds wear for roughly 3–4 months, making K-tip the longest-lasting professional install before a full re-application is needed.
K-tips are removed with a bond-release solution and a removal tool; they should always be taken out professionally to protect your natural hair.
