What Is Hair Toppers?

Also called: Crown toppers, Wiglets

A hair topper is a partial hairpiece that clips over the crown or part line to cover thinning on top — coverage where extensions alone can't reach.

A hair topper is a partial hairpiece — a base of wefted or skin-like material with hair attached — that clips onto your existing hair over the crown, part line, or top of the head. Toppers solve the one problem traditional extensions cannot: thinning on top. Extensions add length and volume from the sides and back, but they attach to existing hair and sit below the part, so they can't cover a widening part or sparse crown.

Toppers come in different base sizes and materials (weft bases for lighter coverage, skin bases that mimic a scalp for more advanced thinning) and in different lengths to match your cut. Color-matching and a professional blend cut make the difference between a topper that reads as "hair" and one that reads as "hairpiece."
